School ofhuman Sciences
At the School of Human Sciences, through our teaching, research and extension with increasingly high standards of excellence, we want to be agents of change, contributing to the social transformation of the different regions of the country and, with them, of the country. whole. We wish to promote critical thinking, openness, empathy and interdisciplinarity to form cosmopolitan citizens.
OurSeal
Our Route 2025 is strongly based on four pillars. The first three (academic excellence, interdisciplinarity and internationalization) point towards the fourth (the impact and social relevance of everything we do), which guides all our actions as if it were a compass.
Academic excellence
Excellence is a process, not a mere result. To be excellent, you have to work hard and constantly, improving yourself, facing new challenges. We will work to keep this pace and be better and better. We will seek to comply with the most demanding standards, both national and international, and we will assume transformative practices that impact our missionary functions in favor of continuous improvement.
internationalization
We will connect more and more with international networks that allow us to access diverse and multicultural dialogues with other communities, other ways of thinking, researching, teaching, to form true citizens of the world, who understand how our realities are, regardless of place or distance, they are interconnected and mutually affect each other.
interdisciplinarity
One of our most recognizable characteristics is the commitment to an interdisciplinary dialogue. Social reality is multicolored, diverse and complex. Understanding it, then, requires openness to what other ways of approaching it can teach us. It is very important to know how to engage in dialogue with others in order to jointly find explanations and solutions to social problems. We will make a strong commitment to further advance in this dialogue, beyond the social sciences and humanities, to establish connections and cooperation with administrative sciences, life sciences, etc. because the social and human dimension can and should contribute to the understanding of the different facets of the reality in which we live.
Impact and social relevance
We are thanks to others. No one can be who they are if they are not nourished by experiences, teachings, memories, care, thousands of interactions with others. Thus, we always have a responsibility to care for and contribute to the continuous improvement of the society that allows us to be. We will systematically direct our bets so that our actions have an ever greater impact in benefiting the community itself, the people who need it most, to do our bit to be agents of change in this country.
Our ROUTE 2025
